What are the long term objectives of the Bannatyne Reading, Writing, Spelling, and Language Program?

It is essential to keep in mind what it is we want for all our students in terms of reading, writing, spelling and language skills, not only as they grow up, but also as educated adults. These skills must also coincide with what the students want for themselves. These long term objectives of the Bannatyne Reading, Writing, Spelling and Language Program can be summed up as follows.

To produce fast, fluent, accurate automatic readers in terms of decoding.
Readers who will fully comprehend the full meaning and implications of what they read in words, sentences and stories.
To develop accurate automatic spelling skills.
