Teacher Reminders And Checklist in the Ships and Planets Series
Using the Teacher Reminders which are in the Ships and Planets Series Teacher Guides: In the Teacher Guides you will notice that under each Student Workbook (facsimile in color) page as completed by the student, there is a Teacher Reminder table, within which all the Steps of the lessons/activities for that page are summarized. This Teacher Reminder table is designed to prompt teachers who, once they are very experienced in using the Bannatyne Program Teacher Guides and Student Workbooks, may wish to temporarily unclip (from the binder) the Teacher Guide Teacher Reminder page that they are currently using with their students or student. By being able to carry, temporarily, just a single sheet, teachers will have in hand the information they need, not only to remember to teach all the lessons involved, but also to use the grapheme color-coding, etc., for checking their students' work. Nevertheless it is always wise to review the complete relevant lesson Activity Section of the Teacher Guide when preparing any lesson before you teach it, because the Teacher Reminders are only prompts and do not contain the complete contents of the lesson or the methods for teaching that content.
Here is a sample (from the bottom of Page 1 of the Galleon Teacher Guide) of the TEACHER REMINDERS AND CHECKLIST for the 12 Steps of the KEY WORDS ACTIVITY:
TEACHER REMINDERS AND CHECKLIST: [Workbooks closed for Step 1 then open. Just before Step 2 below define what a vowel is and explain that all vowels (use that term) in the Program have Color Names and they are to be colored. Students always trace or write sequentially from left to right. While tracing over or writing any grapheme each student must simultaneously articulate the phoneme it represents.]

The Bannatyne Reading Program is a comprehensive, integrated reading program, writing program, spelling program, language program, and comprehension training program. The Bannatyne Reading Program is unlike any other reading programs currently available. This means you will find many features which are only in the Bannatyne Reading Program. In some Commonwealth countries the program may be referred to as: Bannatyne Programme, or Bannatyne Reading Programme.
